The non-profit association Hundstallet notices a high pressure on applications to give away the dogs acquired during the pandemic, the so-called corona dogs.

The organization has three locations in Sweden and despite the fact that they recently opened a facility in Alingsås - Hundstallet believes that it is not enough to meet the demand that has increased sharply in recent years

The association mainly works with receiving two different types of care.

Partly the dogs that for various reasons cannot stay with their families, so-called private relocations, and partly the dogs that are taken care of by authorities, so-called service dogs.

Almost twice as many relocations this year

According to Frida Larsson, the increase is due to the fact that during the pandemic, people felt that it was a good time to get a dog because they were largely at home.

- Then maybe you thought that all the practical things would work out, which then didn't when everything started up again, she says.

During the first half of this year, the Kennel was able to relocate a total of 103 dogs to new homes.

The corresponding figure for the first half of last year was 60 dogs.
