Prime Minister Kishida confirmed his intention to appoint Mr. Koichi Tani, a member of the Liberal Democratic Party Nikai faction, as the chairman of the National Public Safety Commission and the minister in charge of disaster prevention during the cabinet reshuffle to be held on the 10th.
Mr. Tani is his first entry into the cabinet.
