Approximately every third person who is employed in home care in Borgholm municipality has a background as a refugee.

- Borgholm municipality was extremely good at accepting refugees in 2015 and many of them have chosen to stay in the municipality, says Anna Hasselbom Trofast.

"We wouldn't have managed without it"

Of those who have stayed, many have also chosen to get an education and work in home care.

- Thanks to that, it has become a win-win.

We get a good workforce and the people get integrated into society.

Without that, we wouldn't have managed, she says.

Finding staff in home care is something that many municipalities struggle with.

- There is a constant need for recruitment and there are upcoming retirements.

After all, the situation here has been so favorable that we have had refugees and new arrivals that we have been able to employ.

It has been a fantastic solution for us.
