On August 8, local time, the U.S. Department of Defense announced that it would provide Ukraine with another batch of military aid worth $1 billion.

According to a statement from the U.S. Department of Defense, this is the "largest single military aid" the Biden administration has drawn from the U.S. military stockpile under the president's appropriation authority since August 2021.

It is reported that the first weapons provided by the United States will include ammunition for the Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS), and the handover of NASAMS will take several days.

In addition, the latest batch of military aid also includes additional ammunition for the "Haimas" multiple rocket launcher system, 75,000 155mm shells and 1,000 "Javelin" anti-tank missiles.

Since the Biden administration took office, the United States has pledged about $9.8 billion in security assistance to Ukraine.
