“Russia is conducting a special military operation in Ukraine and is seeking peace on our terms,” he said in an interview with TASS.

According to Medvedev, the conduct of the special operation in Ukraine was a "tough but carefully thought out" response to the Russophobic policy pursued by the collective West.

“We have our own national interests, and we will ensure them by all available means,” he concluded.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov stressed that there is no clear time frame for the special operation in Ukraine.

He noted that the main thing is the effectiveness of the special operation.

Peskov also said that Moscow is still ready to solve the Ukrainian problem through diplomacy, but on its own terms.

The Kremlin noted that Russia has never closed the door to negotiations with the Ukrainian side.

Prior to this, Russian President Vladimir Putin also spoke about Kyiv's unwillingness to implement the Istanbul agreements in the framework of peace negotiations.
