According to the ministry, the foreigner sought medical assistance at the Tom Ciorba Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital in Chisinau, where he was hospitalized with suspected monkeypox, as well as general weakness, fever and skin rashes.
“Samples were collected, they were delivered for laboratory research to the National Public Health Agency.
The test for monkeypox gave a positive result, ”the Ministry of Health clarified.
A man in the US has been found to have been in contact with a man who also tested positive for monkeypox.
