Ludovic is a garbage collector for the city of Paris.

He collects waste from the capital every day equipped with his broom, his trash can and his cart.

Ludovic is passionate about his job and hosted our journalist Marie Gicquel for a day.

"We have everything, it's perfect, we can go clean up," smiles Ludovic.

He has been a garbage collector for the city of Paris for five years and rubs shoulders with its inhabitants every day.

"Go ahead, please," he said courteously to a passerby.

"It often happens that people come to see us to ask us for the streets, we are real walking GPS," he laughs.

A health walk

When he walks the streets, Ludovic sometimes whistles and sings his favorite tunes.

He walks an average of thirteen to fourteen kilometers a day, a real physical activity of which he does not complain.

These long distances do not prevent him "from keeping his little belly", he laughs.

It happens when you are a garbage collector to make beautiful finds.

"A colleague found a Rolex and a hundred euro note", he explains, "they took it out of the box and that's it".

From the heart to the work

When he sees incivility, he cannot refrain from making a remark and gets annoyed.

He goes in stride towards soldiers who eat a little further and throws them with a big smile.

"Do not hesitate to throw the packaging in the trash, gentlemen".

Nothing disturbs however the good mood of Ludovic, however sad to leave us.

"Thank you again for your interest in us", he sighs, "I offer you the Rolex with great pleasure" he exclaims before leaving, quietly, to clean the streets of Paris.
