Nablus -

The third day of the war on Gaza is about to end, and when the West Bank rises to extinguish the fire of popular anger, ignite the fuse of resistance and move the already inflamed field against the Israeli occupation, the arena was empty except for solidarity stands in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the occupied interior in 1948 in support of the besieged and rained sector by the occupation fire. always.

Despite the state of political and military weakness and the restrictions experienced by all the resistance factions in the West Bank, they did not leave the rope in the dark. On the first day of the war and the assassination of the leader of the Islamic Jihad, Tayseer al-Jabari, they met in one word, in which they warned - through a joint statement delivered in Jenin camp in the northern West Bank - The occupation and its settlers, and announced that the streets of the West Bank are prohibited to them and prevent their movement through them.

Her words were translated into actions, so yesterday, Saturday and today, Sunday, military convoys of the occupation army stormed the West Bank cities to arrest wanted men, including dozens of soldiers and leaders of the Islamic Jihad movement, especially in the cities of Nablus and Jenin.

Everyone is giving their best

However, if movement in the West Bank or in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem has subsided, and if it is affected by some deficit, it is not the demise of the Palestinian people there who are constantly oppressed by the occupation and are working hard to break the thorn in their struggle.

And what others consider “inaction” or “disappointment” experienced by the West Bank towards Gaza, the leader of the Islamic Jihad movement in the West Bank sees Khader Adnan as a single and common Palestinian concern embodied by the resistance in Gaza under the title of its “unity of squares” operation to repel aggression and defend the land.

He also considered this as a support for the resistance in all its locations, including the prisoners in the prisons of the occupation, and therefore "compromising the dignity of the Palestinian, wherever and however it is found, is an insult to the whole and not to anyone personally," Adnan tells Al Jazeera Net.

He adds that this is meant to make the occupation understand that any aggression explodes the situation, and that they live in a state of confrontation and not an antagonism with it, because it crossed the red lines and was unique in the resistance, treachery and assassination, and therefore "we will not turn the left cheek for him, and we did not possess weapons in Gaza except for the battlefields."

Adnan points out that everyone is doing what they can, as the occupied West Bank is living a long-term policy of resistance with its "light weapons" as a result of "the security grip of the Palestinian Authority and the security coordination it exercises that prevented it from having a tenth of what the resistance possesses in Gaza."

Resistance is obligatory

Despite the arrogance of the occupation and the length of its hand due to its weapons and technology, the Jihad movement - according to Adnan - is not afraid of any action that might be presented to it in the West Bank, as in Gaza, from assassination or otherwise, as the West Bank remains a "soft waist" of the occupation and its settlers.

The resistance and its unity are preparing for this moment, and it is imposing a victory every hour, and despite that, Adnan says, "We are ready to pay the price, even if it is exorbitant. The factions are safe from the occupation and its forms of targeting, including arrest or assassination, according to what observers see.

Determinants of Solidarity

But the solidarity of the West Bank with Gaza is linked to a set of determinants, the first of which - according to the director of the Yabous Center for Consultations and Strategic Studies, Suleiman Bisharat - the concept of solidarity movement of the West Bank with Gaza, as it cannot go beyond the popular situation condemning the aggression;

In the sense that the political and societal structure of the West Bank and its borders of solidarity with the Gaza Strip are limited to the traditional form of solidarity of marches and vigils, and may move to confrontations at protest points, and these are mostly very limited.

In addition, the political environment of the West Bank, specifically the official position of the Palestinian Authority regarding the means and forms of resistance to the occupation, does not allow a departure from the concept of popular resistance.

And the West Bank, and this is the third determinant according to Basharat’s talk to Al Jazeera Net, suffers from the absence of the organizational and structural presence of the Palestinian factions and organizations that play an important role in the process of mobilization and mobilization of the masses, and the reason for this is the Palestinian political division and the occupation policies on the ground through the absence and arrest of influential figures and leaders who move the street.

However, perhaps in the last two years, specifically after the events of Sheikh Jarrah and the Battle of Seif al-Quds, the West Bank witnessed a kind of “mass awakening” that expressed, at a minimum, solidarity, whether by standing here and there, or by solidarity through social networking sites, or expressing their rejection of the policies of Occupation.

The bank is exhausted and the pursuit is double

Despite this, he did not cut off hope in the movement of the West Bank, but it depends on two things, the first is the continuity of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

As for the second matter, it is related to field developments, including the size and nature of the Israeli violations that may result from this aggression on the one hand, and what is related to the violations in the occupied city of Jerusalem and the storming of Al-Aqsa on the other hand, “therefore, the next few hours or days will judge the form and nature of this move ".

As for political science professor at the Arab American University in Jenin, Aqel Salah, he believes that the West Bank is “exhausted” economically and security-wise, and is facing continuous arrests and double prosecution (by the authorities and occupation) of the elements that move in the face of the occupation.

And all of this leads - according to Salah to Al Jazeera Net - to lose confidence in the existing political components of the people, who have lost hope of improving their conditions in light of poverty, unemployment, debts, loans, high prices and attacks on people in broad daylight without accountability, in addition to the rampant corruption in official institutions, Marginalizing the role of the factions, and besieging any movement in the West Bank, specifically the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Despite all this, Salah makes it clear that nothing is constant, the masses can move and the spark of the third intifada can be launched at any moment.
