“We have collected evidence of extremist and terrorist crimes committed by members of the Azov association, including the participation of mercenaries trained in it in hostilities, providing them with weapons and ammunition,” he said in an interview with Kommersant.

Krasnov added that the Prosecutor General's Office established the involvement of Azov militants in the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare.

He said that during the process of recognizing the national formation as a terrorist organization, video and audio materials and eyewitness testimonies were presented, testifying to the torture and killing of civilians by militants, deliberate attacks on civilian facilities, mining and planting explosive devices in places where the civilian population is located.

Earlier, the head of the public monitoring commission of Moscow, Georgy Volkov, said that one of the captured members of Azov admitted that cannibalism was practiced in the national battalion.

On August 2, the Supreme Court of Russia, at the suit of the General Prosecutor's Office, recognized the Ukrainian nationalist battalion Azov as a terrorist organization and banned its activities in Russia.
