Mizintsev drew attention to the fact that Ukrainian troops regularly and deliberately carry out shelling of the ZNPP territory and thus create a real threat to the nuclear security not only of Ukraine, but also of Europe.

“In the event of an accident at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, a global man-made disaster will occur, which, in terms of the scale of radioactive contamination, will significantly exceed the consequences of the accidents at nuclear power plants in Chernobyl and Fukushima,” he said.

According to him, in the event of a disaster, the population of a number of regions of Ukraine, the DPR, LPR, the border regions of Russia and Belarus, as well as Moldova, Bulgaria and Romania, will be in the zone of radiation contamination in the event of a disaster.

As previously reported, on August 5, a fire broke out on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant after another shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Later, Ukrainian troops launched a second artillery strike on the nuclear power plant.

After the shelling of Energodar by Ukrainian troops, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was partially without water supply and de-energized.

Also, during the shelling, a water pipeline was damaged.

This caused a torch fire at a hydrogen station.
