Russia announces the killing of 600 Ukrainian troops in Kherson

The Russian military stated that it killed about 600 Ukrainian and coalition soldiers during recent air and artillery strikes in the southern Kherson region and nearby Dnepropetrovsk.

"Near the village of Belohirka in the Kherson region, air strikes and artillery fire targeted the temporary position of the 46th Ukrainian Air Assault Brigade," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Saturday.

He added that more than 400 Ukrainian troops were killed in the attack on the temporary base.

In addition, he added, more than 70 other soldiers were killed and 150 wounded, due to missile attacks elsewhere on the Kherson front.

"More than 80 foreigners were killed in missile attacks in the Dnepropetrovsk region," he added.

Konashenkov also spoke of the destruction of several Ukrainian artillery systems the day before in the Kharkiv region, including the advanced Hermas multiple rocket launchers provided by the United States.

Moscow has also reported the destruction of these weapons systems several times in the past, but Kyiv and Washington have issued denials.
