Xinhua News Agency, Washington, August 6 (Reporter Sun Ding) The US White House Presidential Doctor Kevin O'Connor informed on the 6th that President Biden, who retested positive for the new crown virus a week ago, has a negative test result, but will continue to isolate.

In a memo to the White House, O'Connor wrote that Biden has been feeling well and that, out of an abundance of caution, he will remain in isolation until he has a second negative test result.

On July 21, Biden was diagnosed with the new crown virus for the first time, showing symptoms such as runny nose, sore throat and fatigue.

During the isolation period, he continued to take the combination of the antiviral oral drug nematevir/ritonavir for the treatment of new crown infection.

A week later, Biden's new crown virus test result turned negative and then ended his isolation.

On July 30, Biden tested positive for the new crown virus again and re-entered isolation.

He had a mild cough at one point, but did not resume his medication.

O'Connor previously stated that a small number of new crown patients taking the nematevir/ritonavir combination had retested positive.
