Thousands of motorcycles and cars were waiting this Saturday August 6 in front of gas stations, to try to fill up before the sharp increase this Sunday.

This led to tensions and clashes.

Bangladeshis are desperate in the face of this sudden inflation: the price of diesel has risen by 42% and that of petrol by 51% overnight.

First of all, this makes all trips more expensive: the bus ticket has already increased by 16 to 22%, depending on the route.

And this should also affect the price of food and consumer goods, which are also transported by truck.

Inflation has already increased by more than 8% in June, the highest rate in Bangladesh for eight years.
