A swimsuit cost a woman a high price, much more than its price, as it led her to imprisonment for a month and deportation from the state, after she was implicated in an attempt to steal it from a branch of a famous store specialized in selling women's clothing.

Another woman met the same fate in a similar crime, when she decided to steal cosmetics and other women's items from a well-known store.

She was arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution Office, and from there to the Criminal Court.

In detail, the investigations of the Public Prosecution in the first case stated that the accused (African) decided to resort to an illegal way to obtain a swimsuit worth 150 dirhams from a branch of a famous store specializing in women's clothing, so she went there at night and took advantage of the sellers' preoccupation with customers Others, and chose a certain "swimsuit" and put it in her handbag, then went smoothly to the exit door, but she was surprised by the alarm bell as a result of her inability to remove the tool that protects the shop's products from being stolen.

The woman quickly threw the piece of clothing, trying to get rid of it, but the security men were able to seize her, take legal measures against her, and hand her over to the police.

By examining the surveillance cameras from the Electronic Evidence Department of the Dubai Police, the accused was seen taking the displayed piece of clothing, then trying to get out of the shop, until one of the employees called her, so she threw the piece of clothing at the entrance to the shop, trying to get rid of it.

The accused confessed to stealing the piece of clothing, attributing her crime to her need for money, but she did not appear before the court in the first stage of the case, despite her legal knowledge of the date of the session, so the court decided to sentence her in absentia, and ended up convicting her of the charge of “attempting at night to steal valuable swimwear.” 150 dirhams.” The impact of her crime was disappointed for a reason that had nothing to do with her, which is the launch of the alarm system in the shop when she leaves it.

The court decided to take the accused with a measure of clemency in accordance with the law, and ruled in absentia that she be imprisoned for a month and deported from the state.

The accused objected to the verdict in absentia, so she appeared before the court and denied the accusation against her, but the authority confirmed that the verdict was based on valid reasons.

In addition, the Criminal Court sentenced an (Asian) woman to be imprisoned for stealing items worth 667 dirhams at night, including cosmetics, sunglasses and a hat from a well-known store branch.

According to the details of the case, the accused entered the store at night, collected the items and hid them in her bag while she was in the changing room. Then, she tried to get out of the store, but the security men stopped her and caught her in the act.

By asking the accused in the investigations of the Public Prosecution Office, she justified her behavior by saying that she was on her way to the men's clothing department, and that she did not intend to escape with it.

An employee in the shop testified that the accused put cosmetics in her handbag, then chose sunglasses, put them in them, picked up a hat, and took them to the dressing room, adding that she returned the clothes to their place, but she did not return the hat.

He added that she tried to leave without paying for the items she had hidden in her bag.

After examining the case, the court was satisfied with the evidence against the accused, and decided in absentia to imprison her for a month and deport her.

The value of the African women’s stolen goods is 150 dirhams, and the Asian stolen goods are 667 dirhams.
