Last year, Agneta Bäcklund presented an investigation to the government about security guards.

Among other things, she highlighted that the use of security guards has increased from only standing at restaurants and concerts, to now being almost everywhere.

Therefore, according to her, security guards often end up in conflict-filled situations - like the one that occurred at the subway platform in Stockholm this weekend.

Agneta Bäcklund's investigation also suggested that the training of security guards should be increased from 80 to 160 hours, which is expected to become law in July next year.

- It is important that security guards have the right knowledge of how to use violence in a conflict situation, she says.

Criticism from various quarters

That the law enforcement officers' training needs to be strengthened was supported by, among others, Amnesty, the Chancellor of Justice and the police, says Bäcklund.

- Our conclusion was that the education needed to be strengthened.
