According to the defense ministry, on August 5, from 16:20 to 17:24, Ukrainian troops carried out three artillery strikes on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and Energodar.

In total, the Ukrainian side fired 20 shells of 152 mm caliber.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the shelling was conducted by one of the units of the 45th artillery brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from firing positions near the village of Marganets, which is under the control of Ukrainian troops.

As previously reported, on August 5, a fire broke out on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant after another shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Later, Ukrainian troops launched a second artillery strike on the nuclear power plant.

After the shelling of Energodar by Ukrainian troops, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was partially without water supply and de-energized.

Also, during the shelling, a water pipeline was damaged.

This caused a torch fire at a hydrogen station.
