Bloomberg: Only half of the G20 countries have joined the sanctions against Russia

It is noted that the attempt of the leaders of the G7 countries to isolate Russia is failing.

The agency writes that the G20 countries, which make up 85% of the world economy, are less willing to join the sanctions against Russia.

Only half of the states have introduced restrictive measures against Moscow because of the situation around Ukraine.

The material argues that states are reluctant to join the sanctions due to historical ties with Russia, economic considerations and mistrust of former colonial powers.

Earlier, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi said that the Japanese authorities intend to encourage neutral G20 countries to impose sanctions against Russia.

According to The Washington Post columnist Nina Masih, India has dramatically increased its imports of goods from Russia, which violated the plans of the United States and its allies to isolate Moscow.
