When a new criminal complaint against Jan P. for coercion was received by the Gießen public prosecutor on Tuesday afternoon, it was too late.

At that time, Ayleen A., the 14-year-old girl from Gottenheim in southern Baden, was no longer alive.

She died, maybe in the car on the way from Freiburg to Wetzlar, maybe also on an embankment at Teufelsee in Wetterau.

Or at the suspect's home.

The fact that Jan P. had spoken to a 17-year-old girl in Rosbach at the flower festival a few weeks earlier and later harassed her via messenger and tried several times to lure her into his car in the schoolyard was in a police file for more than three months documented.

The allegations, however, were not sufficient from the point of view of the investigators,

to keep the previously convicted sex offender under permanent observation or even to imprison him.

The ad could have been a last warning sign to make it clear how dangerous Jan P. still is, even after ten years in psychiatry and five years under observation in the central register for sex offenders at risk of recidivism.

In this case, too, the question arises as to whether the psychiatrists, the judges at the local and regional courts, the supervisors and the police negligently released a dangerous sex offender and possibly misjudged it.

Haven't they perhaps underestimated that someone who, at 14, committed his first act of sexual violence against an 11-year-old girl, for which he was jailed for 10 years, will continue as soon as he gets the chance again.

After all, the harassment of the 17-year-old girl led to the police in Friedberg taking "various measures" to better control Jan P.

So there were several threats in the spring, the investigators had also included him in the program for multiple and intensive offenders anyway - a makeshift construction after the Limburg District Court decided that the man should be observed for an unlimited period, for which the police had previously advocated and against which Jan P. took legal action with his lawyer.

What apparently nobody knew was that Jan P. was already looking for new victims shortly after the observation had ended.

He finally found her at the fairground in the 17-year-old schoolgirl.

And in the Fortnite chat: That's where he met Ayleen.

While very little is known about the contact with the fourteen-year-old from Gottenheim and much, as the police and public prosecutor say, "is still in the early stages of investigation", the three-year-old teenager from Hesse creates a picture, as Jan P ... approached his victims - and how he dealt with the women.

At the flower festival in Rosdorf he is said to have worked on a ride as an assistant.

A place that is ideal for making contact with young people.

There he met the 17-year-old student.

He continued what he started 15 years ago when he was just 14: molesting young girls because his sex drive is apparently delusional.

He wrote her countless messages and visited her at her school in Bad Nauheim.

On 2.

Finally, in May, an acquaintance of the girl reported Jan P. to the police in Friedberg.

She found out that he was already well known – as a shoplifter from Waldsolms who stole coffee and drove around in a car without a driver's license.

And: as a previously convicted sex offender who had now ended up in the Hessian program for multiple and intensive offenders.
