The Paris administrative court on Friday suspended the expulsion of the imam of the North Hassan Iquioussen to Morocco, which had been ordered by the Ministry of the Interior, considering that it would cause a "disproportionate attack" on his "private life and family".

Gérald Darmanin announced last week the forthcoming expulsion of this preacher born in France but of Moroccan nationality, accused by the French authorities of having made anti-Semitic, homophobic and "anti-women" remarks during sermons or conferences, held nearly 20 years ago for some.

The Minister of the Interior has decided to appeal this decision before the Council of State.
