On the other hand, amid heightened tensions due to US Speaker of the House of Representatives Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, it was not possible to confirm that Foreign Minister Hayashi and Foreign Minister Park had a chat before the meeting, while Foreign Minister Wang had a long conversation with the two.



Regarding the situation in Taiwan, ASEAN has issued a statement that it is concerned about confrontation between major powers and calls for refraining from provocative actions, while supporting the "one China" policy, according to diplomatic sources.
