Neither howling nor the sound of a blow, says the prosecution.

Listening to the recordings made during the chase on July 23 in Besançon seems to corroborate the statements of the police and the manager of the establishment.

They deny any responsibility in the death of Seïf Eddine, 24, who fell from a 4.50 m wall while fleeing after an altercation in front of a nightclub.

Died of his injuries on July 24 at the CHU of Besançon, the young man had presented himself in the night around 03:00 at the door of the discotheque whose access had been refused to him.

“It was the significant state of excitement in which he was that led the doormen to refuse him access” and “absolutely not for a racial reason”, affirms the public prosecutor of Besançon, Etienne Manteaux.

“Never in touch”

Seïf Eddine then partially damaged a CCTV camera before fleeing, pursued by a bouncer and the manager of the establishment, a former police officer.

The police, called to the scene, had illuminated the fleeing man with their flashlight while he was on the very steep slope of the Citadel of Besançon.

They had “very shortly after heard a dull noise” and requested the intervention of the firefighters and the Samu, still according to the magistrate.

The police officers and the manager remained permanently in telephone communication with the Police Information and Command Center during the pursuit and "at no time do we hear screams, blows", specified Etienne Manteaux, speaking of a "significant advance in the investigation".

"The exploitation of these audio tapes is totally compatible with the version given until then by the police and by this discotheque manager and his employee", he insisted, adding that "the police have never been contact" of the young man before his fall.

A white march in memory of the victim brought together 200 participants on Sunday according to the organizers and 90 according to the police, while his father Karim Boulazreg assured AFP that his son had "been beaten to death", demanding "justice and the truth ".
