Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Wednesday that US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has gone ahead with her visit to China's Taiwan region, ignoring official protests by China.

Wang, who is currently visiting Cambodia, stressed that the move seriously violates the one-China principle, maliciously violates China's sovereignty, and is blatantly considered a political provocation, which has aroused strong resentment of the Chinese people and widespread opposition from the international community. ".

He said the move proves once again that some US politicians have become "troublemakers" of China-US relations, and that the United States has become the "biggest destroyer" of peace across the Taiwan Strait and regional stability.

Wang added that Taiwan is part of China, and the complete reunification of China is the trend of the times and a historical inevitability, and we will not leave room for "Taiwan independence" forces and outside interference.

He explained that the insertion of the Taiwan issue into the regional strategy of the United States exacerbates tensions and fuels confrontation, and contradicts the development trend in the region and the expectations of the peoples of the Asia-Pacific region, considering it a very dangerous and stupid matter.

Wang stressed that the one-China principle has become a basic norm governing international relations and an integral part of the international system after World War II.

Meanwhile, Ma Xiaoguang, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said Wednesday that attempts by Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen and the DPP authorities to collude with foreign forces will push Taiwan into the abyss.

Ma added that Tsai and the DPP authorities have entrenched themselves in the separatist position of "Taiwan independence," refused to recognize the 1992 Consensus, openly promoted pro "two countries" and recklessly attacked the "one country, two systems" policy.

"We solemnly warned Tsai and the DPP authorities that attempts to collude with outside forces to pursue 'Taiwan independence' for the interests of one person and one party will only accelerate their own self-destruction and push Taiwan into the abyss," the spokesperson said.
