On August 3, local time, U.S. President Biden signed an executive order to ensure American women’s access to reproductive and other healthcare services (Securing Access to Reproductive and Other Healthcare Services).

Biden participated in an interagency task force meeting by video link that day and delivered a speech on the executive order he signed.

Biden said that the abortion ban triggered by some Republican states after the Supreme Court overturned the "Roe v. Wade case" deprived women of their reproductive rights and privacy rights, ignoring any extreme situations such as rape, incest, and threats to physical health, which seriously violated Women's basic rights, ignoring their health and safety.

Biden said the executive order will protect women's right to seek abortion out of state, ensure that medical service providers do not delay or deny patients seeking abortion and related medical services out of state, in addition, the executive order will also promote maternal health care for pregnant women data collection and research.
