This follows from Zelensky's response to the corresponding petition under the heading "Legalization of same-sex marriage."

The petition has collected more than 25 thousand signatures, which are needed for consideration by the head of state.

“I turned to the Prime Minister of Ukraine with a request to consider the issue raised in the electronic petition and inform about the relevant results,” Zelensky said in a response.

At the same time, the president notes that “human rights and freedoms are inalienable and inviolable,” and according to the Family Code of Ukraine, “a family consists of persons living together and connected by a common life.”

“According to the Constitution of Ukraine, marriage is based on the free consent of a woman and a man,” the message says.

On August 1, Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed Denys Shmygal to study the issue of serving subpoenas on the streets, gas stations and checkpoints.
