According to RIA Novosti with reference to the Telegraph newspaper, the electoral process was postponed after a warning from the British Government Communications Center (GCHQ) about the possible substitution of votes by the hands of hackers.

It is specified that the Conservative Party was forced to cancel the original plans, according to which its members would be able to change their choice in the voting process.

On July 7, the current British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his decision to step down as Prime Minister of Great Britain and leader of the country's Conservative Party.

Earlier it became known that former British Finance Minister Rishi Sunak and Foreign Minister Liz Truss reached the finals of the struggle for the post of prime minister.

Sunak got 137 votes, Truss got 113.
