It was during the weekend that the police were called to a village outside Luleå due to a violent crime.

The majority of police resources participated in the case, including dog handlers and a police helicopter.

A man in his 50s was later arrested on suspicion of assaulting a relative.

Arrested after the assault

On Tuesday, the man was arrested for extremely serious assault.

Prosecutor Jonas Fjellström believes that there is a risk of continued crime and the investigation could be complicated if the man is released.

The man himself denies wrongdoing.

The man has previously been convicted of a serious crime of violence against a relative in Luleå and has served a longer prison sentence.

He admitted the crime but said he suffered from a serious mental disorder.
