The Södertörn district court decided that on Tuesday after the court found that there is convincing evidence that the woman acted in the way the prosecutor claims.

"This is for the purpose of investigating whether the defendant acted under the influence of a serious mental disorder and whether there are conditions for forensic psychiatric care.

Such an investigation can also have a bearing on the issue of intent," the court writes in a press release.

Witnesses stopped the train

The incident, which occurred in early July, was captured on surveillance video.

It shows how the woman seemingly unprovoked walked up to a man and pushed him down onto the track.

Soon after, a train was entering the platform, but people who saw what happened were able to raise the alarm and the train stopped in time.

In addition to attempted murder, the woman is also charged with aggravated assault, as the man, among other things, received a head injury in connection with the case.

SVT Nyheter Stockholm reported in connection with the prosecution that the woman denies any crime.

The main hearing is expected to continue in September.
