Météo France on Tuesday placed 27 departments on orange alert for the heat wave until Wednesday.

These are departments ranging from Bas-Rhin to Haute-Garonne, via Vaucluse.

This heatwave episode should be shorter than that of July, again according to the meteorological institute.

The heat wave will spread to new departments on Wednesday, mainly in the east of mainland France, with a total of 27 departments placed on orange alert, or 22 more, Météo France announced on Tuesday.

Departments ranging from Bas-Rhin to Haute-Garonne via Vaucluse are concerned.

Most of them are concentrated in the east and south-east of the country.

This heatwave episode should be shorter than that of July, again according to the meteorological institute.
