Ellen Uusitalo lost her leg to illness when she was six years old and has had access to disabled parking all her life.

But when she was to renew the application with Umeå municipality, she was suddenly rejected, which SVT Nyheter Västerbotten told about.

The reactions have poured in.

- There have been comments, both by email, phone and social media.

A lot of people think it's terrible and support me.

There are many others who are in the same situation as me who encouraged me, says Uusitalo.

"Didn't think it would be so incredibly difficult"

Ellen appealed the Umeå municipality's decision.

Now she has received an answer from the municipality - the decision is firm.

Ellen does not have the right to park in disabled parking spaces.

- I'm shocked, you get exhausted.

It's frustrating and takes a lot of energy and time, it's just hard, says Ellen.

She will now appeal the decision to the administrative court.

The municipality does not comment on individual cases

SVT Nyheter Västerbotten has sought Umeå municipality for a comment without success.

Annika Kjellson Lind, head of department at Umeå municipality, previously told SVT that the municipality does not comment on individual cases.

According to Ellen, the municipality writes that nothing new has come to light in the appeal and that the decision therefore stands.
