The measures were introduced in connection with the continued application by the British government of the mechanism of sanctions restrictions against representatives of Russia.
The Russian sanctions list includes UK Labor Party leader Cyrus Starmer, Scottish government finance and economics minister Keith Forbes, head of the Scottish National Party faction Ian Blackford and others.

Earlier, the UK imposed sanctions on Colonel-General Sergei Rudsky, Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, and businessman Vladimir Potanin.
Also, the authorities of the United Kingdom included seven more individuals and legal entities from Russia in the sanctions list.
In addition, businessman Said Gutseriev and the governor of the Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev were included in the British sanctions list.
