The market share for the 120-minute thriller was 64.8 percent.

Even before the final at Wembley Stadium, Erste recorded a strong 8.49 million (market share 38.5 percent) from 5:05 p.m.

From 9:21 p.m., 3.44 million (MA: 15.1 percent) watched the summaries of the DFB Cup games in the “Sportschau” studio.

12.19 million (MA: 47.2) had already followed the German soccer players' entry into the final by beating France 2-1 in the semi-finals on ZDF.

9.5 million fans watched the 2-0 win against Austria and entry into the semi-finals in the live broadcast on ARD.

The market share was 38.2 percent.

The most-watched game in the group stage of the European Championship was the 2-0 win against Spain, which was also broadcast on ARD, with 8.02 million.

5.95 million watched the opening game against Denmark (4-0), and 5.76 million watched the 3-0 win against Finland at the end of the group stage last Saturday.

Both times, ZDF was the broadcaster.
