Because of the obstacles in the face of Biden

The midterm congressional elections look bleak for Democrats

Political pundits gain wealth and influence by predicting what will happen in an election, who will win or lose and who will raise the most money for an election campaign.

These critics are looking forward to what will happen in the midterm congressional elections to be held in about three months.

It seems that liberal and centrist pundits on television such as CNN, MSNBC, and NPR, and major newspapers such as the New York Times and Washington Post, agree on two obvious facts about the November 8 election. They will win the most in these elections, and control the House of Representatives, and perhaps the Congress as well.

The second is that Republicans in Congress have never been as hawkish as they are now, and they are far from most voters.

wrong order

It is easy to see the contradiction in these two facts. If Republicans are so far from the electorate, why would they win so much with those same voters?

There is clearly something wrong with this scenario.

If the real progressives are more present among the elite than the critics, they may point out this error by identifying the huge obstacles that wrap around the neck of the Democrats, and thus the neck of President Joe Biden.

And if voters' attention is not focused on Biden in the November elections, but rather on Republican fanaticism, the Democrats will be able to win.

Over the past few months, the Republican ideology, reviled by the American people, has been so clear, even to less-interested voters, that it has been demonstrated through their efforts to do the following things:

Obstructing constructive freedom in all parts of the country.

Obstructing legislation aimed at rationalizing the use of weapons.

They denied the idea of global warming, even though the temperature in the United States had reached an unprecedented level.

- Rejected and resisted all criticism leveled against former US President Donald Trump's assault on democracy and the smooth transition of power.

Naturally, voters focus on other issues as well, according to opinion polls, which mainly include the economy and inflation, which are currently global problems, and they are greater than Biden's energy, although he failed to confront corporate profitability and price manipulation, not even high drug prices.

Don't run away, Joe!

Hoping to avoid electoral disaster next November, some progressives are joining the campaign

"# Don't Run, Joe," which I helped launch.

Hopefully, very soon Biden will announce that he will not run for the Democratic Party in the 2024 election, which may turn voters' attention in the upcoming elections to party versus party, Democrats versus Republicans.

The controversy was started last month by a Newsweek columnist who served as ambassador to former US President Barack Obama.

The critics who dominate the corporate liberal media are well aware that Biden is a weak president, a frequent slip-up, and has proven unable to use the presidential platform to obtain legislation even from his own party.

They are concerned about his advanced age.

But they have been committed to him and have protected him since 2016, when it turned out that he was the only candidate capable of stopping the rise of candidate Bernie Sanders.

These critics agree that Biden is ideologically a "moderate" and believes in incremental change, just as they do.

Improving the lives of Americans

And if rationality is to enter the political process before the disaster awaiting the November elections, it will not come from Democratic leaders or moderate critics.

Progressives and Democratic activists will have to spur President Biden to announce he will not run for president again, while also admitting that they are grateful to him for defeating Donald Trump in 2020 (something we have worked so hard in the swing states to achieve).

Progressives also need to continue to demand more executive orders from Biden in the coming months, aimed at materially improving Americans' lives, beginning with canceling college student debt.

This would suggest a brighter future for progressives and Democrats who understand that the party in power in Washington must improve working-class living conditions and energize democratic-leaning voters under the age of 30.

A recent poll indicated that 94% of those want to nominate someone other than Biden in the 2024 elections.

Advantages for Republicans

And the Republicans in the November elections, which are fast approaching, have many advantages for them thanks to their ability to maneuver the maps of Congress and tactics to pressure the voters.

And the historical pattern of midterm congressional elections favoring the Republican Party as well as an undemocratic Senate, which can give excessive power to sparsely populated states, which increasingly tend to be conservative.

There is a need to change the direction of the Democrats, and quickly.

And floundering with Biden may appeal to short-sighted liberal critics who fear serious progressive change.

But that would be an apt recipe for a kind of catastrophe, which could make what happened on June 6, 2021 seem, in comparison, to a garden party.

The critics who dominate the corporate liberal media are well aware that Biden is a weak president, that he slips frequently, and that he has proven unable to use the presidential platform to obtain legislation even from his own party.
