Tehran holds Taliban responsible for border clash with Iranian forces

An "responsible local source" announced that the clashes that erupted at noon today, Sunday, in the Hermand border in Sistan and Baluchestan province - southeast of Gheran, between Iranian border guards and Taliban fighters have stopped.

The source pointed out that an attack by the Taliban on the Iranian border led to these confrontations.

The governor of Harimand city, "Maytham Barazanda", had announced that armed clashes had taken place on Sunday afternoon, between the Iranian border guards and the Taliban.

In a statement to the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRNA), "Barrazandeh" said that the clashes between the Iranian border guards and the Taliban took place in the "Shagalek" border area in the city of Hermand.

According to IRNA's monitoring, the armed confrontations between the Iranian border guards and elements of the Taliban movement did not record any losses among the Iranian forces.

There was no comment from the Taliban.
