The Director of Fujairah Municipality, Eng. Muhammad Al Afkham, revealed that most of the roads of the Emirate of Fujairah have fully returned to normal before exposure to the air depression, due to the intensive efforts by all government, local and federal agencies over the past five days.

He pointed out that the quantities of water collected in it were withdrawn by equipment, mechanisms and pumps, and the electricity supply was restored to it after its interruption, as the efforts made resulted in opening most of the emirate's roads, and work is underway from all local, governmental and federal agencies to continue withdrawing water pools and cleaning the streets of the waste that was It was swept away by the waters of the valleys while crossing these roads.

He pointed out that the mobilized teams from most departments of the municipality focused their work mainly on residential neighborhoods, and withdrew the large amounts of rain water that the emirate witnessed, stressing that the municipality was provided with additional pumps and tanks in order to withdraw the largest possible quantities of rain and torrential water.

He pointed to the intensification and continuation of efforts between the Municipality and Public Works Department and government and federal agencies in order to maintain the roads affected by the air depression experienced by the region, and to restore traffic to its usual flow.

For his part, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, Brigadier General Mohammed bin Nayi Al Tunaiji, said that work and efforts are continuing among all concerned authorities, to return the situation to normal after addressing the effects and repercussions of the rain, and the resulting damage.

Finally, the Fujairah Committee to count those affected by rain and torrential rain held its meeting, headed by the Director of Fujairah Municipality, Engineer Muhammad Saif Al-Afkham.

The committee decided to publish an electronic link through which registration can be done to list the affected, in cooperation with the General Command of the Fujairah Police, the Civil Defense Department, the Fujairah Municipality, the Crisis and Disaster Center, the Red Crescent Authority, and the Fujairah Charitable Society.

In addition, the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation contributed to alleviating the damage caused by the weather situation that affected Fujairah, in cooperation with the supporting authorities and private sector companies operating under the umbrella of the Foundation, by participating in the Loyal Hands campaign and the initiative of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah “With you hand in hand.” ».

The Foundation participated with its volunteer work team in opening closed roads, distributing food and drink to all existing volunteer teams, in addition to helping affected families and removing them from flooded places to safer places in cooperation with the concerned authorities, as well as contributing to the removal of vehicles from confined spaces, and cleaning the streets of the emirate .

In Kalba, the head of the Municipal Council in Kalba City, Dr. Obaid Saif Al-Zaabi, revealed that 90% of the watersheds were withdrawn with 163 heavy equipment and machinery, and 50% of the affected areas have been cleaned, including the Suhaila area, and the other affected areas are being cleaned after they have completely dried out. And the process of cleaning it becomes easier, pointing out that the areas where rain water still accumulates are confined to some old areas such as the prayer hall and the industrial area, and other areas.

The municipality of Kalba, represented by the emergency team of the Wadi Al-Hilu office, stated that it is following up the implementation of the plan to address the effects of the depression, which was developed in proportion to the nature of the area and its return to normal life after heavy rains.

The Director of the Eastern Region Police Department in Sharjah, Colonel Dr. Ali Al-Ki Al-Hamoudi, confirmed that all external roads linking the Emirate of Sharjah with the Eastern Region have been fully opened, noting that traffic has returned to the Nahwa and Shees area.
