On the Atlantic coast, summer rhymes with bays.

Like every year, the authorities are conducting awareness campaigns and publishing explanatory videos to protect bathers in these large natural pools.

Because every year, people die from drowning.

Every year, the risk is omnipresent.

In the southwest, the baïnes strike every year and cause drownings.

This phenomenon is formed by the wind, currents and waves and it is necessary to be well informed when jumping into the water.

It is necessary to swim in supervised areas.

To protect swimmers, an awareness mission called "Info Baïnes" has been launched.

"Our job is to raise awareness, but to do it in a more committed way. It is a pack of awareness, of explanations", confides Gaëlle Richard.

"On SudOuest.fr, there is a whole file with infographics, articles, videos from TV7 and TV Pays. A song with a clip that raises awareness of the dangers and the need not to fight against the currents ."

A crowdfunding campaign

And that's not all: a crowdfunding campaign will be launched "to help coastal rescue clubs acquire equipment and improve training conditions for young rescuers", as well as a distribution of posters and flyers "all along the coast, all summer until the end of August".

"For your safety, be aware", can we read on these 70,000 posters.
