The weekend of crossover between Julytists and Augustians continues.

The map of France is orange and red in the direction of departures.

But in the direction of returns, Bison Futé sees green, the traffic being visibly fluid as told at the microphone of Europe 1 Sophie, back from a family vacation in Granville.

In the Rhône Valley and around the Mediterranean, traffic is difficult - not surprisingly.

Corks stretch on the A7 which connects Lyon to Orange, more precisely from 100km to noon.

On the A75, between Clermont-Ferrand and Béziers, the traffic is more fluid but there are however around fifteen kilometers of traffic jams.

Same difficulties on the Atlantic coast.

The A10 is in the top three of the most congested axes currently.

Nearly 65 kilometers of traffic jams between Paris and Bordeaux.

And Bison Futé expects traffic to remain strong until 4 p.m., or even 7 p.m., on the outskirts of large cities.

"The darlings may quickly become impatient in the car"

In the direction of returns, you should arrive safely at home.

Sophie returns from vacation in Granville, Normandy.

She left in the morning at 9:30 a.m. to avoid the big traffic jams.

"For the moment, we are driving well. GPS tell us an arrival in Paris in 3h30-4h. Afterwards, we can have funny surprises as we get closer to Paris, but we hope to get back on time."

And for Sophie, it's better to arrive quickly... or you'll lose patience.

"We are five in the car with two darlings, 18 months and five years old who will quickly become impatient if the road drags on," she concludes.
