On Sunday, July 31, in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt, the Main Naval Parade was held in honor of the Navy Day.

Before it began, Vladimir Putin approved the Naval Doctrine and the Ship Charter of the Russian Navy.

“We openly outlined the boundaries and zones of Russia's national interests - both economic and vital, strategic.

First of all, these are our Arctic waters, the waters of the Black, Okhotsk and Bering Seas, the Baltic and Kuril straits.

We will ensure their protection firmly and by all means, ”Putin said, speaking about the new Naval Doctrine.

At the same time, the head of state noted that the new Ship Charter of the Navy reflects the age-old traditions of sailors: “Naval service is a vocation.

Naval fraternity, mutual assistance, contempt for difficulties, strong will - in the nature of ship commanders, officers and all combat crews.

The word of military sailors is unshakable, and zeal is limitless.

As follows from the text of the decree on the Naval Doctrine, its implementation "will contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of the Russian Federation, ensuring national security and strengthening authority in the international arena."

Among the main challenges and threats to Russia's national security in the World Ocean are the US course towards dominance, the advancement of the military infrastructure of NATO countries to Russian borders, territorial claims from a number of states, attempts by some countries to change the current legal regimes of maritime spaces and straits, as well as an increase in international terrorism.

The document also provides for "diversification and intensification of maritime activities in the Svalbard archipelago, Franz Josef Land, Novaya Zemlya and Wrangel Island."

As follows from the text of the second decree, in addition to approving the new Ship Charter of the Navy, changes are being made to the Charter of the internal service of the RF Armed Forces and the Charter of the garrison and guard services of the RF Armed Forces, approved by presidential decree of November 10, 2007.

In May, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the new version of the Naval Doctrine fully responds to modern challenges and threats.

The document is aimed at improving national security in the field of maritime activities, a significant reduction in the dependence of all areas of maritime activities on external influence and market conditions.

“In the context of a total hybrid war of the collective West against our side, unprecedented sanctions and a special military operation in Ukraine, ensuring national security is more relevant than ever.

Modern Russia cannot exist without a strong fleet,” Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said at a meeting of the Naval Board in the Admiralty.

According to him, the role of the force factor has not decreased in building international relations.

“It is vital for us to build up our capabilities to ensure and protect national interests in the oceans.

The adjustment of the Naval Doctrine takes into account the change in the geopolitical and military-strategic situation in the world, ”he explained.

"The navy is able to respond with lightning speed to anyone who decides to encroach on the freedom of Russia"

Navy Day is a holiday loved and honored by the people of Russia, Vladimir Putin noted while delivering a speech at the Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt.

The President stressed that the current generation of sailors and officers is a reliable, invincible pillar of the country.

“The key here is the capabilities of the navy.

It is able to respond with lightning speed to anyone who decides to encroach on our sovereignty and freedom, successfully and honorably fulfills strategic tasks on the borders of our country and in any area of the World Ocean, has a high readiness for active operations of its coastal, surface, air, submarine forces and means .

They are constantly being improved,” Putin said.

He emphasized that the armament of the Russian fleet is constantly being improved: “Suffice it to mention the latest Zircon hypersonic missile systems, which have no analogues in the world, for which there are no barriers.”

“Their delivery to the Russian Armed Forces will begin in the coming months.

The frigate Admiral Gorshkov will be the first to take up combat duty with this formidable weapon on board.

The service area of the ship equipped with Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles will be chosen based on the interests of ensuring Russia's security," the head of state said.

The Russian leader also spoke about other plans to modernize the Navy.

“We will continue large-scale construction of ships and vessels, marine scientific research programs.

Big positive changes will take place in coastal regions.

And of course, the well-being of the families of military sailors, shipbuilders, workers in all industries related to the sea and the fleet remains one of the main priorities, ”Putin concluded.
