Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled Donetsk with petal mines

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Donetsk People's Republic recommended that residents of Donetsk and Makeevka not go out into the streets unnecessarily due to the fact that the Ukrainian military is shelling the territory of the DPR with prohibited high-explosive anti-personnel mines-petals of pressure action.

“Dear residents of Donetsk and Makeevka!

Due to the fact that the VFU used PFM-1C anti-personnel mines of the Petal type in residential areas, we kindly request you to reduce the time spent on the street unnecessarily.

Remember: your life depends on your vigilance and caution!

- the message says.

Earlier, an RT correspondent pointed out that these mines are "easy to confuse with a green leaf."

According to him, at night, sappers were demining the central streets of Donetsk - Mira Avenue, Pushkin Boulevard, Universitetsky Avenue, Bogdan Khmelnitsky Street.

As the first deputy head of the Ministry of Information of the DPR, Daniil Bezsonov, pointed out in a conversation with RT, the use of this type of weapon is a "terrible war crime."

“For heavy equipment, this mine is not terrible: it is not capable of breaking the caterpillar of a tank or infantry fighting vehicle, but for infantry this is a terrible find - it breaks a person’s foot,” he said.

According to him, the residents of the DPR should now be extremely careful.

“Our sappers work without breaks, but the areas of work are significant.

Keep a close eye on your children.

If you decide to go for a walk, carefully look under your feet - and at the road if you are driving a car.

And it is better not to move around the city without special need.

This is very important for maintaining your health,” Bezsonov stated.
