Morocco's King Mohammed VI said he is looking forward to the Algerian presidency to work on establishing normal relations between two peoples that share historical ties.

In his speech on the occasion of the Throne Day, the Moroccan king called on Moroccans to respect the Algerian brotherhood, pointing out that what is said about relations with Algeria is heartbreaking.

He added, "We will not be able to rise to internal and external challenges without consolidating social stability and strengthening the economy."

He called for the activation of the constitutional institutions concerned with the rights of the family and women in Morocco.
