One of the festival's most loyal bands is Selma & Gustaf, who have played at the festival every year since 2014. The band's members met at Bromangymansiet.
They record their albums in a studio in Glimsta on the outskirts of Hudiksvall and many of their lyrics reflect the members' upbringing in the city.
Folk music inspires
- I think that we are basically inspired by the Helsinki folk music feeling, even if we made the music differently, says Selma Edenståhl, singer in Selma & Gustaf.
- Just that with folk music, you understand more and more that there is a connection, some kind of melancholy perhaps, which is found in both our melodies and lyrics, says Gustaf Johnsson, singer and band member of Selma & Gustaf.
