China News Service, July 30. According to Peru's "Gazette" report, the Peruvian Ministry of Health reported on the 29th that the number of confirmed cases of monkeypox in Peru has risen to 269.

  Regions with confirmed monkeypox cases reported include: capital Lima (231 cases), Callao (16 cases), Lima province (2 cases), Ica (3 cases), La Libertad (11 cases), Tacna (1 case) case), Loreto (1 case), Piura (1 case), Cusco (2 cases) and Junin (1 case).

  The Peruvian Ministry of Health said 54 of those infected have been discharged from hospital, all of whom have received medical care and are being closely monitored by the ministry.

  The Peruvian Ministry of Health also urges the public to continue to follow precautionary measures such as reducing contact with suspected infected persons, washing hands frequently, wearing masks correctly, maintaining social distancing, and isolating from others if symptoms of monkeypox are present.
