Black smoke rises and covers all directions.

Russia launched a missile attack on the Ukrainian capital Kiiu and surrounding areas for the first time in 54 days.

According to UPI news agency, about 25 missiles fired from Belarus hit the outskirts of Kiiu, including Zitomir.

Ukraine's second-largest city, Kharkiv, was also bombarded by Russian fire overnight.

I hit the inside of the apartment right away.]

This massive Russian bombing was carried out right after it was evaluated that Ukraine had gained momentum in its restoration operations, such as cutting off Russia's key supply routes in southern Kherson.

Kherson is an area facing Russia's annexation of the Krm Peninsula in 2014 and was occupied by Russia in March.

Since the beginning of this month, Ukraine has declared the restoration of Kherson and has been strengthening its offensive by mobilizing the high-speed mobile artillery rocket system Hymas.

The only bridge between Kherson and occupied southern Russia is also known to have been recently occupied by Ukraine.

After redeploying large numbers of troops to the southern front, Russian troops bombed other parts of Ukraine with missiles in addition to the capital, Kiiu.

A Russian missile also fell in Kropiunitzki, central Ukraine, killing five people and injuring 25 others.
