A 32-year-old woman was found dead Friday morning in Mantes-La-Jolie (Yvelines) at the home of her companion, with whom she was in the process of separation, AFP learned on Friday from concordant sources.
She was found dead in the basement of the pavilion, where she had gone to retrieve personal effects, said a source familiar with the matter.
“The circumstances of the death remain undetermined”
The companion, 36 years old and father of his three children, was placed in police custody, said the prosecutor's office of Versailles, contacted by AFP.
It was he who informed the police of the death of the young woman.
"The investigation was opened for intentional homicide, which underlies the placement in police custody," the prosecution told AFP, adding that the investigation was only in its infancy.
“The circumstances of the death remain undetermined,” insisted the prosecution.
The investigation was entrusted to the Departmental Security of Yvelines.
