Xi warns Biden not to 'play with fire' over Taiwan

On Thursday, Xi Jinping and Joe Biden held "frank and in-depth" talks that lasted for two hours, during which the Chinese president warned his US counterpart not to "play with fire" over Taiwan, according to Chinese state media.

"Those who play with fire will burn themselves," Xi told Biden, as quoted by the China News Agency, adding, "I hope the US side will fully understand this."

"The two presidents considered that their phone conversation was frank and profound," the agency added.
