US offers reward for information on alleged Russian election interference

The US State Department said it had offered a reward of up to $10 million for information on alleged Russian interference in the US election.

"The department is seeking information about the Internet Research Agency, Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin (founder of the agency), and relevant Russian entities and partners for their participation in interfering in the US election," the ministry said in a media note Thursday.

The United States has already imposed sanctions on individuals and entities linked to the founder and financier of the Russian Internet Research Agency, a St. Petersburg-based company that US intelligence officials say was instrumental in Russian efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election.
