Prime Minister Kishida will be the first Japanese Prime Minister to attend and give a speech at the NPT Review Conference to be held in New York, USA from the 1st of next month.



In his speech, Japan will make realistic efforts toward a world free of nuclear weapons as the only country exposed to the war, as the situation becomes more severe as Russia threatens with nuclear weapons over the invasion of Ukraine. It is a policy to express.



Specifically, we will call on nuclear-weapon states to make their nuclear forces transparent, and show the idea of ​​encouraging dialogue between the United States and Russia and the United States and China in order to reduce nuclear weapons.



It is also expected that Japan will take the lead in holding a high-level meeting with the aim of enacting the CTBT = Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, which completely bans nuclear tests.



Furthermore, in order to more accurately convey the reality of the atomic bombing to the world, we will announce the schedule for the "International Witan Conference" to invite the leaders of each country to Hiroshima in late November.
