Theresa Zabell has been linked to the sea all her life.

She is our most international athlete in sailing with two Olympic golds, three world championships and three Europeans.

After those 20 years of successful competition, she realized that her beloved sea "was in danger."

So in 1999 she promoted the creation of the Ecomar Foundation to protect the oceans.

"If we close the tap of the waste that reaches the sea, we are already cleaning it", she explains about the importance of prevention.

However, she also highlights action and education as pillars when it comes to saving "not the planet but ourselves".

We have to connect with each other and not duplicate what we do

Education and inspiration are also two of the objectives of Telefónica's 'Best Connected' platform, of which Theresa Zabell is a part.

This space, which is based on the idea that "when we connect, we are capable of doing incredible things", has numerous characters to learn from.

Ferran Adrià, Javier Gómez Noya or Teresa Perales are other stories that we can find on the platform.

Some will be framed as first-person testimonials under the 'Get Inspired' section and others will be framed as master classes in the 'Learn' section.
