His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, directed the Ministry of Interior to mobilize emergency and rescue teams from all nearby emirates affiliated with the Ministry of Interior to support rescue operations in the Emirate of Fujairah and the eastern regions of the country, which were hit by heavy rain yesterday.

His Highness also directed the Ministry of Community Development to move all families affected by rain and torrential rain in the eastern regions of the country to temporary shelter sites, in cooperation with local authorities, in addition to reserving nearby hotels to accommodate all affected families and families living in areas that may pose a danger to their residents during the rainy period. severe.

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, ordered the mobilization of emergency and rescue teams in Dubai to support rescue operations in the Emirate of Fujairah and the eastern regions of the country that were hit by heavy rain yesterday. .

Yesterday, the Council of Ministers directed the formation of an urgent committee headed by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and the concerned federal authorities to work on counting the damages of torrential rains and floods in the various regions of the country, in coordination with local authorities in the various emirates of the country.

The Council also directed the committee to submit a detailed report on the damages and immediately start taking all measures to protect property and lives, in coordination with the security and police authorities and municipalities in all emirates of the country.

The committee, which was formed, appealed to all citizens and residents, especially in mountainous areas, to take precaution and stay away from the streams of valleys and torrents and to immediately report any accidents through emergency numbers, operation rooms in the police authorities and civil defense agencies that work around the clock to respond to any emergency, stressing the importance of responding All individuals for the instructions and directives of the concerned authorities, in order to preserve lives, property and infrastructure facilities, asking God Almighty to bless us in these seasonal rains and make them rains of goodness and mercy and preserve the country and people.

The Cabinet also directed all federal agencies working in areas affected by strong rain and torrential rain, especially in the emirates of Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, that their non-essential employees work remotely for Thursday and Friday.

The decision excluded all federal authorities concerned with civil defense, police and security agencies that deal with disasters, crises and emergencies, in addition to those concerned with community support, which deal with reports of damage to farms and property of citizens.

The eastern region witnessed heavy rain that lasted for hours and caused street closures, as Fujairah Police called on residents of the emirate and its affiliated areas to stay in their homes, and called on everyone who would like to visit the emirate to postpone the matter due to the high water level in some streets.

The municipalities of the eastern region, in cooperation with the police forces, closed streets due to the accumulation of rainwater and falling rocks in order to preserve the safety of property and lives, and restaurants and cafes received families stuck in the roads and provided them with food.

The Deputy Commander of Fujairah Police, Brigadier General Muhammad Al Tunaiji, revealed to "Emirates Today", that no human casualties were recorded as a result of the torrential rains in Fujairah, as some damages were recorded to houses in the areas of Al-Sharia and Sukmkum, in addition to damages in some streets and vehicles, some of which were swept away by the torrents and others were disrupted by Heavy rains, noting that Fujairah Police receives support and backing from Abu Dhabi and Dubai Polices to deal with the effects of rain.

He stated that all the security services represented by the civil defense and the competent local agencies are making great efforts to deal with the heavy rains witnessed in the area.
