TGV, TER, intercités... If you haven't yet booked train tickets for the holidays, don't panic.

SNCF announced that 10 million tickets were still available for the summer season.

Although a large proportion of travelers have reserved their places more than a month in advance, many destinations are still accessible.

We are halfway through summer vacation.

Don't panic if you don't have train tickets yet, there are several million left, for TGV in particular, according to the SNCF.

Clearly, if you are not aiming for a TGV in the direction of the south or the Atlantic facade, on a Friday at 5 p.m., you will find space.

For example, it is possible to find a train for this Wednesday in the direction of Marseille, the TGV is not yet complete.

New popular destinations

More generally, it is especially in the TER and Intercity trains that there are still a lot of places available, in particular in the direction of the mountains around Annecy, in the Mercantour or the Pyrenees.

The SNCF also highlights TER routes to the sea: Saint-Brieux, Granville, Le Touquet, not to mention the night trains.

The company, which draws up an initial assessment in the middle of the summer, notes that holidaymakers have booked again, planning for D-30 before departure.

Obviously, the fact that there is less uncertainty this year because of the Covid has encouraged the French to buy their tickets in advance.

Another increase: short stays of less than three days.

And as for the summer's flagship destinations, as usual, the most requested are Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille and Avignon.

At the same time, cities that attract much more than usual: Nancy where reservations have increased by 56% or Reims with an increase of 63%.
