The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has launched the "Young Mobility Competencies" program, which aims to qualify young national competencies to work for the authority's partners from leading international companies, in the specializations of the work of the authority to gain experience and specialized knowledge, where those wishing to register can use the "Dubai Jobs" platform, and register Their data, starting from August 1 to August 19, 2022. The authority clarified that the Youth Mobility Competency Program seeks to achieve five objectives: Contribute to the implementation of the National Youth Strategy, and provide an effective means to attract and qualify national competencies, in addition to qualifying the Authority’s employees and new graduates from the youth category. In the areas of the authority’s specialized work, increasing the quality of productivity, finding innovative alternatives to the costs of recruitment and training, and reducing the rate of job turnover of specialized and technical competencies.

The program focuses on the categories of new graduates who are citizens and the authority’s young employees, who will be trained in specific fields and specializations, namely, metro and tram operation, bus planning and operation, infrastructure maintenance, bus maintenance, in addition to engineering consultancy and digital infrastructure, and areas related to infrastructure contracting. Financial studies and specialized feasibility studies.

The Human Resources and Development Department will undertake the task of general supervision of the implementation of the project, through coordination with sectors and institutions within the authority, to identify candidates and take the necessary measures to implement the program, and coordinate with the authority’s partners to develop the training program (young mobility competencies), in addition to following up and ensuring the implementation partners’ commitment Optimizing the program, continuous communication, following up on the needs of trainees within the program, and measuring the impact of training and the return on investment.

The duration of the program is from one to six months, depending on the category and specialization. Candidates for the program will be selected according to specific criteria for each category (the authority’s young employees and recent graduates). The employee should be a citizen of the United Arab Emirates, his university qualification should be within the disciplines required for the program, and his graduation should not have passed more than three years before the date of application.

As for the category of recent graduates, their criteria are: The applicant must be a citizen of the United Arab Emirates, that he has a university qualification from a recognized university or college, within the disciplines required for the program, and that no more than two years have passed since the graduation before the date of submission. The program requires a cumulative GPA of no less than 3 out of 4 or its equivalent, in addition to the applicant being medically fit, having completed the requirements of the national service (for males), providing a certificate of good conduct, and passing personal interviews and admission tests.

It is worth noting that the Roads Authority launched the Youth Mobility Competencies Program in line with the Authority's strategic goals and objectives, which contribute to attracting, developing and retaining talent, and aligning them with future skills.
